What You Gain from an Apprenticeship at Valda

Earning from the start
This isn’t your typical apprenticeship. From day one, you’ll join us in a permanent role with a starting salary of £22,000, around £6,000 above the national average.

Nationally recognised qualification
Our apprenticeship helps to give you the best start to your career. By the end, you will also have a nationally recognised qualification.

Hands on experience
Develop practical skills and gain real-world experience through meaningful, on-the-job learning from day one.

Dedicated learning time
For all our apprentices, we offer 20% of learning time (minimum 6 hours per week or equivalent) and is completed through training via our L&D team.

Coaching and tutoring
Apprentices will build skills on the job with support from their line managers and teammates, while benefiting from regular performance reviews and dedicated mentorship.

Gaining life skills
Whether it's managing money, staying fit and healthy, or tackling everyday tasks like changing a tyre, our Life Skills workshops equip our apprentices with the tools they need to thrive in the real world.

Our apprenticeship programme is constantly growing to support more career paths across the business. In recent years, we’ve expanded into areas such as IT and Commercial, alongside established apprenticeships in departments like Collections, Customer Service, Metering, and Billing. As we continue to grow, we’re always looking for new ways to offer meaningful opportunities across a wide range of teams.

Yes! Apprentices start with a salary of £22,000 and are entitled to the same benefits as other employees, including paid holidays and pension contributions.

For most of our apprenticeships, you don’t need specific qualifications to get started. We’re more interested in your attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Some roles may require basic maths and English skills, but if you don’t already have these, we can support you in gaining them during your apprenticeship.

Yes, all apprenticeships at Valda Energy lead to a nationally recognised qualification. Depending on the level and type of apprenticeship, this could range from a Level 2 (equivalent to GCSEs) to a Level 3 (equivalent to A Levels) or even higher.
