The role. 🤝
As a team leader, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of our debt collection agencies, and internal admin team. Your primary focus will be to ensure the efficient and effective management of overdue accounts, the safe disconnection and reconnection of customers, and the seamless operation of administrative processes. You will play a crucial role in achieving our financial and operational targets while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.
How you will contribute. ✅
- Lead, motivate, and support a diverse team of debt collection agencies, and internal admin staff
- Oversee the coordination with external debt collection agencies to ensure timely and effective recovery of overdue accounts
- Monitor and analyse debt collection performance, implementing strategies to improve recovery rates
- Support with the management of field agents responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting customers in compliance with company policies and regulations
- Ensure all field activities are conducted safely and efficiently
- Review and approve disconnection and reconnection schedules
- Supervise the internal admin team, ensuring accurately and timely processing of account information and customer communications
- Implement and maintain efficient administrative procedures to support debt collection and field operations
- Ensure all records are up-to-date and comply with data protection regulations
- Prepare regular reports on team performance, debt recovery rates, field activities, and administrative efficiency
- Use data analysis to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Ensure all activities are conducted with a high level of customer service and in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance
What we are looking for. 🔍
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both orally and written, and in a professional manner
- Previous experience in debt negotiation / collections, and customer service Conflict resolution is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work and deliver in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and demanding targets,showing an ability to react to change and a flexible approach to working hours
- Self-motivated and driven with a positive attitude – and a desire to self-develop.
- Exceptional organisation skills
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Competent I.T skills, especially with the Microsoft Suite
- Data analytics experience
